2016 ThrillsVille-Lost

Quite some time ago I had a blog going called ThrillsVille Deluxe which I abandoned in 2011, it was just becoming more of a chore to keep up with—here's a link if you want to check it out thrillsvilledeluxe.blogspot.co… I came up with an illustration as a header for the blog way back when and I was pretty pleased with it, in fact, it's still in my portfolio as of this writing, but this new one may be replacing it soon, I haven't decided. Anyway, I was going through some old files and came across a version that was a rejected roughs, but I still kept it. So when I ran across it I decided to finish it up and see how it came out, and this is the result. It was inspired by a place my family used to go on the Oregon coast called The Surftides, it had some really cool mid-century architecture, including an amazing restaurant called Over the Waves, which is sadly gone now. Actually, most of the cool stuff has been refurbished, but the pool which is similar to the building in the background is virtually unchanged, and is just as cool as you can imagine—here's a shot of it from a few years ago www.flickr.com/photos/8557276@…
